I've Gone Mad

I think I just allowed my co-workers talk *ahem coach me into running a half marathon! A few of us are thinking of doing the Disneyland half marathon in August. I suppose it gives me plenty of time to train. I was originally thinking of doing America's Finest City half marathon in August, but a co-worker of mine who did the Disneyland last year said that one was so much fun. Hmm, something to definitely think about. Not to mention the $150 fee. I suppose it costs more to get Mickey & friends to cheer you on. I need to get used to the idea that I'm going to run a half MARATHON. Yikes!

In less than 2 months I have the SD mud run. It shouldn't be too bad considering I'm only doing the 5K. We were hesitant to do 10K because last year they said it was too hot and uncomfortable to run for a long time. I'm excited and looking forward to gettin' dirtee. Hehe. I started lifting weights as part of my training. Something about being stuck in mud... it's embarrassing just thinking about it so I want to be prepared. Hehe.

Ok, will blog more later. I'm hungry. =)

I don't think so. I'm still contemplating... the idea of running through Disneyland sounds fun.. but also expensive. America's finest will only cost me $80 max. Sigh. I hate money talk. =/

that's awesome mary! i wish i had enough strength and endurance to run a half or even a 5K, but i'm too lazy to train

Thanks Grace! I often don't think I have the strength and endurance. I just take it one day at a time. I like signing up for events because I am the queen of laziness, so signing up for an event gives me a reason to train. =)

that's actually really exciting! congrats! half marathon wow that's huge! :P...but you're right, enough time to train. i'm thinking of doing a 5k out here in michigan as well in march! yay us! haha..but at the same time i know my bro wants to do it too so i may take a trip home for the weekend to run with him (evne if i can't keep up). i will say though, that it's an accomplishment. just months ago i was struggling with running a mile straight and now i've hit the 2.5-3 mile range with no problem. people like you inspire me so keep at it!!! half marathon sounds amazing though! i wanna look it up. i finish aug 6!
